Film183

Film 183 is a Film Society established by enthusiasts of cinema to support the Electric Palace Harwich and foster appreciation of film throughout the community.

Film183 members will be able to enjoy free access to 12 films a year on the last Monday of each month for a one-off annual subscription fee.

As a Film183 member, your participation in the programming of Film Society movie presentations will be invited and you will be regularly able to put forward suggestions for upcoming film themes and titles. There will be three themes of four films each annual season.

The first four films TBC) selected by the Founding Committee are Absolute Beginners (1986, Julien Temple), Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind (2004, Michael Gondry), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014, Wes Anderson) and The Big Lebowski (1998, Joel and Ethan Cohen). They will be shown on Monday January 29 2024, Monday February 19, Monday March 25 and Monday April 29 at 8pm respectively.

Suggestions for films with a Latin American theme for the months of May to August 2024 will be invited following the showing of Absolute Beginners and at the same time members will be able to submit their ideas for subsequent film themes.

Annual membership will be £96.00 payable in advance. This represents an admission fee of £8 for each film shown. All proceeds will go to supporting the Electric Palace Trust as part of its regular fund-raising initiatives.

With Christmas coming up, this represents an ideal time for providing a film-loving family member or friend with the perfect gift for a whole of year of movie enjoyment.
